Opening ceremony of “Stock Market Learning Competition”

On October 4, 2024, the online opening ceremony of the “Stock Market Learning Competition” was held. This educational game is organized by the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB), in cooperation with the Bank of Albania and DISK Albania (German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation). The competition offers an opportunity to learn about the stock market through a fun and interactive experience.
Ms. Luljeta Minxhozi, First Deputy Governor of the Bank of Albania, and Mrs. Anja Deizner, Director of the Office in Albania and Regional Director for Southeast Europe at the German Sparkassenstiftung for International Cooperation, welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of financial education for future generations.
The General Secretary of AAB, Mr. Spiro Brumbulli, also greeted the participants, emphasizing that financial education is one of the five main pillars of AAB’s mission. He underlined that AAB and the Bank of Albania have played a leading role in promoting financial literacy across all ages, considering money management an essential life skill. The national strategy for financial education and inclusion is focused on improving financial literacy across all sectors of society.
In this edition of the “Stock Market Learning Competition,” 72 employees from 11 different banks, divided into 19 teams, will compete over four months, ending on January 24, 2025. Using virtual funds to invest, participants will strive to achieve the highest possible returns on their portfolios. At the end of the competition, AAB will award prizes to the 3 teams with the highest virtual portfolio values.
