AAB participates in the launch event of the ‘Double Your Entrepreneurship’ Programme”

On 17 July, the Minister of Economy and Innovation, Ms. Delina Ibrahimaj, organized the presentation of the “Double Your Entrepreneurship” programme. The event was attended by the Prime Minister, Mr. Edi Rama; the Minister of Finance, Mr. Petrit Malaj; the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Mr. Blendi Gonxhe; the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Mr. Andi Salla; the Minister of State for Local Government, Mr. Ervin Demo; and the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Gent Sejko.
Representatives from the business community and the banking sector were also present at the event.
In his remarks, Mr. Bledar Shella, President of the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB), expressed the banking sector’s readiness and commitment to support the new financing product for small and medium-sized enterprises, which provides access to financing at reduced interest rates and benefits from state-backed guarantees. He emphasized that banks remain committed to supporting the current phase of development of the Albanian economy and the country’s path towards European Union membership. Albanian businesses must be prepared to compete in a new environment characterized by higher standards and increased competitiveness.
Mr. Dritan Mustafa, Member of the AAB Supervisory Board, highlighted the importance of banks’ operational preparedness to effectively manage and respond to the increased demand and the flow of applications that this product is expected to generate through bank branches.
