A New Partnership for Economic Development: AAB in dialogue with the Albanian Development Bank

On 9 July 2026, the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) and the Albanian Development Bank (ADB) convened a high-level meeting aimed at strengthening cooperation between Albania’s banking sector and the country’s newly established development finance institution. The meeting brought together the Chief Executive Officers of AAB member banks and senior representatives of the Albanian Development Bank.
During the meeting, the Albanian Development Bank presented its institutional mandate, strategic priorities, and long-term vision for advancing Albania’s economic development. Discussions focused on opportunities for collaboration and on the role of commercial banks as strategic partners in the implementation of financial instruments and initiatives designed to promote sustainable investment.
Representatives of AAB member banks engaged in a constructive exchange of views on how the banking sector can contribute to the development of effective financing mechanisms that support businesses, local communities, and the country’s sustainable economic growth.
AAB regards this dialogue as an important milestone towards establishing a long-term partnership between the banking sector and the Albanian Development Bank. Continued institutional cooperation and the ongoing exchange of expertise will be instrumental in strengthening Albania’s financial ecosystem and fostering solutions that generate sustainable, long-term value for the national economy.
