The Bank of Albania in cooperation with the Albanian Association of Banks will hold the annual conference on “The role of central bank and banking system on the road to the EU”, on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. The conference starts at 9:30 a.m.
This conference aims to analyze the key role of the central bank and banking system in Albania’s path towards the European Union (EU). Through discussions and case studies, participants in this conference will discuss aligning monetary policy, regulatory framework, and financial system with EU standards.
Drawing on lessons from other EU member states, the conference will also address topics related to digital transformation, legal reforms, and the necessary institutional cooperation for a successful transition towards European membership.
Conference information: The conference will be organized in three sessions, with discussions focusing on the recent formal start of accession negotiations in October and the role of central banks and the banking sector in the integration process.
