Open Lecture on Universal Banking in the Digital Era at EPOKA University

On 11 December, the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) delivered an open lecture at EPOKA University with students of Bachelor in Economics, Finance and Banking, as well as Business Informatics, with the aim of bringing the banking sector closer to academia and encouraging the preparation of future professionals in the fields of finance and banking.
The lecture was delivered by Ms. Xhilda Shehu, Head of the Mass Clients Department – Retail Division at Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, who presented the topic “Universal Banking in the Digital Era.”
During her presentation, Ms. Shehu focused on the transformation currently underway in the banking sector under the impact of technology and digitalization, highlighting changes in traditional operating models, the development of digital products and services, and the importance of innovation and a customer-oriented approach.
The discussion emphasized both the benefits of digital banking such as increased efficiency, greater accessibility of services, and an enhanced customer experience as well as the challenges faced by the banking industry, including the need for system upgrades, change management, and the development of new professional skills.
Students actively engaged throughout the lecture through questions and discussions, connecting the theoretical knowledge gained in the classroom with real-world practices in the financial and banking industry.
