Commercial Banks Sign Agreement for the “Double Your Enterprise” Initiative
The Framework Agreement for the implementation of the National Financing Initiative for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Farmers, “Double Your Enterprise,” was signed at the premises of the Bank of Albania. The initiative is the result of cooperation between the Bank of Albania, the relevant ministries, and commercial banks.
Prime Minister H.E. Edi Rama described the initiative as a concrete example of inter-institutional cooperation in support of Albanian entrepreneurship and the strengthening of the productive economy.
The Governor of the Bank of Albania, Mr. Gent Sejko, highlighted the progress of the banking sector in supporting the Albanian economy and the steady growth of lending. He emphasized the importance of financing micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and farmers as key drivers of economic development, employment, and productivity growth in the country.
On behalf of the Albanian Association of Banks, Mr. Seyhan Pencabligil, Deputy Chair of the Association’s Supervisory Board and Chief Executive Officer and Board Member of the National Commercial Bank, described the initiative as a concrete solution to financing access challenges, particularly for businesses facing informality and lack of collateral.
