The Albanian team ranked sixth at the 2026 European Money Quiz in Brussels

On 19 May 2026, the European final of one of the most important financial education competitions for students aged 13–15 took place in Brussels.

This year’s edition brought together national winning teams from 30 European countries to test their knowledge and promote the importance of financial skills in everyday life. Since 2017, this initiative has become one of the key pillars of European Money Week, aiming to empower young people in an increasingly digital and complex world.

Albania was represented by Marinela Hoxha and Majla Idrizi, students from “Imelda Lambertini” 9-year school in Elbasan, who ranked sixth in this European competition.

This year’s winners were Greece, followed by Latvia and Italy, after a close competition that tested participants’ knowledge on savings, investments, cybersecurity, and responsible financial management.

The Chief Executive Officer of the European Banking Federation, Wim Mijs, praised the participants and highlighted the importance of European cooperation in developing young people’s life skills and financial decision-making abilities.

As part of Global Money Week 2026, Raiffeisen Bank Shqipëri supported the participation of the Albanian team in Brussels, enabling the country’s representation in this international competition.

Shoqata Shqiptare e Bankave and its members remain committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen financial education and financial resilience in society.
