Sustainable Finance Opportunities – meeting with IFC
On November 15, 2022, the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) supported the International Finance Corporation (IFC) in organizing a working breakfast on “Maximizing Sustainable Finance Opportunities”. IFC presented this event for financial institutions to facilitate the development of sustainable finance. It was attended by corporates, SMSs, and risk managers of all AAB member banks, and representatives from the World Bank and IFC.
The activity was welcomed by the Program Manager of the IFC, Ms. Leah Soroka, the AAB Secretary General, Mr. Spiro Brumbulli, and the IFC Representative in Albania, Mrs. Laura Qorlaze.
During the meeting, the main focus of discussion was on the strategic identification of climate finance opportunities, revealing the investment potential in the most promising sectors; roadmap on IFC advisory services, tools, and resources to help a business grow its sustainable finance pipeline, and, solutions to meet growing regulatory requirements for climate risk management and sustainability.
The event continued in a friendly atmosphere and demonstrated key elements of sustainable finance, which will enhance financial institution capacity to develop climate business aligned with the EU and global guidelines.
