Discover the 2024 Annual Report: A landmark year for banking in Albania
The Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) has published its 2024 Annual Report, offering a comprehensive overview of the key achievements and developments that have shaped the Albanian banking sector over the past year. Marked as the most successful year to date for the industry, 2024 set new benchmarks for performance and the sector’s contribution to the national economy.
Member banks of AAB demonstrated a strong commitment to improving service quality, expanding access to finance, and accelerating the digitalization of their operations across the board.
As the representative body of the banking sector, AAB played a leading role in addressing strategic issues for the industry’s future. Major initiatives included progress toward Albania’s integration into SEPA, the advancement of open banking, and active involvement in drafting the Credit Bureau Law in collaboration with the World Bank – efforts that have significantly contributed to the modernization of the country’s financial system.
