International Internal Audit Awareness Month: AAB Brings Students Closer to the Internal Audit Profession

As part of the International Internal Audit Awareness Month, the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB) continued this year its commitment to promoting the role and importance of the internal audit profession among young people, through a series of guest lectures held at several universities in the country. The activities brought together students and banking sector experts, who shared their professional experience and discussed the role of the profession in strengthening integrity, transparency, and risk management.
On 28 May, at Polis University, the Chair of the Audit Committee at AAB and Head of the Internal Audit Department at the National Commercial Bank, Mr. Veridjan Hoxha, shared with students his experience in risk-based auditing and professional banking practices.
On 20 May, at Epoka University, Ms. Danjela Begolli, member of the Audit Committee at AAB and Head of the Audit Department at Tirana Bank, delivered a lecture to Finance and Business students on the role of the profession in the banking sector.
On the same day, at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, University of Tirana, Ms. Dorina Marku, member of the Audit Committee at AAB and Head of the Audit Department at FiBank Albania, delivered a lecture to students, sharing perspectives on the importance of internal audit in the financial system.
Students had the opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the profession, engage in discussions, and explore opportunities for professional development in the banking sector.
