“Universal Banking in the Digital Era” – An Open Lecture by AAB with Students of Polis University

 

As part of Global Money Week 2026 and the promotion of financial well-being, AAB organized an open lecture on March 17 with students of Polis University in Tirana.

With the participation of around 45 bachelor-level students in Business Administration, the lecture was delivered by Ms. Xhilda Shehu, Head of Mass Clients Department, Retail Division at Intesa Sanpaolo Bank, who presented in a structured manner the concept of universal banking, explaining how modern banks integrate a wide range of financial services, from traditional banking to investment services and advanced products for individual and business clients.

The presentation addressed key developments in the banking sector in the current era, how financial institutions are adapting to evolving customer demands, as well as the importance of innovation and flexibility in service delivery.

Particular attention was also given to the role of banks in supporting the economy, building long-term customer relationships, and providing tailored solutions.

Students were introduced to contemporary industry practices, the structure of banking services, and the challenges related to competition, market development, and increasing consumer expectations.
