AAB Technical Committees Roundtable on 2026 Projects

On October 6, the Chairs of AAB’s Technical Committees convened for a roundtable discussion to present projects expected to impact the development of the banking system in 2026. The meeting focused on innovative solutions aimed at facilitating payments and enhancing financial services for both citizens and businesses, making them more accessible, faster, and efficient.
During the discussions, ideas and initiatives were shared that will receive increased support throughout the coming year. Key topics included strengthening inter-institutional cooperation, improving public communication, and developing specialized training programs for various sectors of the banking industry.
Special attention was given to collaboration with the Kosovo Banking Association and the exchange of international best practices. The discussion also highlighted the importance of public communication regarding strategic investments, including projects such as Open Banking, SEPA, and Instant Payments, which aim to modernize and digitalize financial services.
AAB Secretary General, Mr. Spiro Brumbulli, emphasized the importance of being closer to the public in order to inform citizens about services they can access more easily and at lower cost, thanks to investments made over recent years.
The year 2026 is expected to bring new challenges, but also opportunities for innovative projects that will bring the banking sector closer to the needs of the economy, towards a more flexible, transparent, and citizen- and business-oriented system.
