AAB hosts the Associate Members of the European Banking Federation (EBF) in Tirana

On 17 October 2025, Tirana hosted the 63rd meeting of the associate members of the European Banking Federation (EBF), cordially welcomed by the Albanian Association of Banks (AAB). The meeting brought together representatives of banking associations from various countries in the region and across Europe to discuss key developments and priorities in the banking sector. Participants joined a reception dinner organized by Mr. Bledar Shella, Chairman of AAB’s Supervisory Board.
The Albanian Association of Banks was represented by its Secretary General, Mr. Spiro Brumbulli.
Joining the meeting were Mr. Deniz Deralla, Director of the Supervision Department at the Bank of Albania, who presented the latest developments in Albania, and Ms. Elona Labinoti, member of the AAB Auxiliary Committee on Payments, Cards, Digitalization, and Alternative Channels, who provided an overview of developments in the payments sector.
The agenda included presentations on the latest EBF activities and EU-level developments, as well as discussions on financial trends in Albania and broader banking sector developments. Key topics covered included digitalization, payments, financial education, innovation, and investments in upskilling employees, particularly in the field of artificial intelligence.
The meeting provided a valuable platform for exchanging experiences, knowledge, and best practices among members, enabling them to share updates from their respective countries and to identify priorities for the further development of the banking sector in the region and across Europe.
