On 7 November 2018, the AAB co – organized with the Office of Information and Data Protection Commissioner (IDP) an workshop on the personal data protection regulation and its impact on the banking system. In view of the compliance requirements under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the workshop aimed at building understanding on various provisions of this regulation and what banks needs to do in order to comply with the same. Representatives from the Bank of Albania, the Office of Information and Data Protection Commissioner and experts from banks attended the workshop. Mr. Besnik Dervishi, Information and Data Protection Commissioner and Mr. Spiro Brumbulli, AAB Secretary General and welcomed the participants and opened the workshop.
Ms. Pjerina Gaxha, Director of Personal Data Protection Department, held a presentation introducing the attendees with the legislation on Personal Data Protection and the practice of the Office of the Commissioner in the banking system. The workshop was also addressed by Italo de Feo, partner at CMS Adonnino Ascoli Cavasola Scamon, Roma, Italy, who introduced the implementation of the General Regulation on the Protection of Personal Data of the EU (GDPR) in the banking system.
At the end, participants in this workshop had the possibility to address their queries.
